루팡은 테오 아젠트라는 교수를 살해한 용의자가 됐다. 교수는 막 마르코 폴로의 [동방 견문록] 여행기에서 누락된 페이지를 발견한다. 루팡은 경찰의 추적을 받던 중 테오 아젠트의 손녀 리사로부터 뜻밖의 도움을 받게 된다.
