"요괴 불제"란
본래 있어야 할 은세로부터 어떤 사정으로 인해
현세에 머물고 있는 요괴들을 은세로 돌려보내는 것을 말한다.
어느날, 요괴에 빙의된 고등학생 아시야 하나에는
우연히 요괴 불제를 행하는 모노노케안을 방문한다.
거기에 있는 것은 꺼림칙해보이는 주인 아베노 하루이츠키였다.
