스무 살의 오타쿠 대학생이던 이와타니 나오후미.
도서관에서 찾은 '사성무기서'라는 책을 통해 마치 RPG 같은
판타지 세계에 방패 용사로서 소환을 당하게 되고.
그 세계의 국왕으로부터 검, 활, 창을 다루는 다른 용사들과 함께
세계를 지켜달라는 부탁을 받는다.
하지만 모험을 시작하자마자 동료의 배신으로 나락에 떨어진
